17 pictures on November 17…
Take a deep breath, and here we go…

My parents got Grace some paint and paintbrushes for her birthday, and both she and Caleb have had a blast painting! Thanks, Mom and Dad!

I splurged and bought Easy Cheese (which, by the way, I’m convinced has no nutritional value whatsoever, and really has nothing in common with cheese)…Anyway, the kids have loved asking me to “draw” different shapes and letters on their crackers during snack time. If you can’t read upside down letters, I wrote “CALEB.”

And Grace with her “GRACE” crackers. (I’m pretty sure Ava was either napping, or eating plain crackers during this snack time.)

Okay, this is an interesting picture. Grace took it. I think I was in our bedroom making the bed or something…You can see that Ava was sitting on the floor shredding a tissue (a favorite pastime of hers), and Caleb is standing above her whacking her on the head with a nearly empty tube of toothpaste. Classic.

The kids found these costumes in the basement one day last week-ish. (The week before last? I can’t remember.) Are they from you, Mom Rumley? Anyway, they had a fun time trying them on!

Ava is pulling herself up really well these days, and another favorite pastime of hers is to play the piano.

Ah, the kids’ new favorite hiding spot. I cleaned out my junk cupboard (i.e. put all the junk in a box in the basement to sort out later), and they just LOVE sitting in there with the doors closed! (That is, until Caleb colored on the inside of the cabinet with markers today, and I locked the doors shut. Sad day for them!) They really do like to hide in there when Luke gets home, and then have him “find” them. Funny kids.

And on to the birthday girl!!! This is Grace on November 13, the day before her birthday, when I was painting her fingernails and toenails so they could be pretty on her birthday.

Beautiful girl! She has grown up so quickly!

On the morning of November 14 (Grace’s birthday!), after eating chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, we were able to go to the childrens’ museum with our friends Miss Sommer and Maddie. This is a picture of Grace and Maddie at the rescue helicopter exhibit. We had a fun morning with them.

And then, in the evening, we had our friends the Perrys over for dinner, cake, and fun. We had such a great time with them! If you’ll remember, last year Grace requested blue mashed potatoes. This year, we had red mashed potatoes (along with ham, green beans, and crescent rolls).

Grace received many wonderful gifts. Here she is with the Boz coloring book she requested. We’re happy that she’s still content with a coloring book for a gift (even though she did receive more than that).

I’ve posted pictures of Grace and Karisa before. Here’s another to add to the scrapbooks. (If I scrapbooked, that is.) They’re such sweet friends. It was wonderful to have her and Hannah (and the rest of the family) here to celebrate with us.

Sorry this one’s pretty blurry. Here are all the kids (minus Ava and Megan) after the treasure hunt. Can you tell the girls had fun with the dress up clothes?

Caleb must’ve been tired of being around all those girls after a while! He spent some manly time with Craig.

Last year, Miss Lindsey bought Grace a skirt so they could match on their birthday. Well, this year they wore their “birthday skirts” to church on Sunday, a couple of days after their birthday. Too cute!

Last picture…Yesterday (Sunday), we enjoyed the afternoon at the Dows’ house. We had a wonderful lunch, and enjoyed chatting with them. And Ava practiced going up the stairs! I’m convinced she’s really going to walk…someday! : - )
Well, it’s very late, so I will be off. I’m not even going to proofread this one, so if something is wrong, I’ll fix it later. Hope you enjoyed the pictures!
I’ll close with another Caleb-ism…
Today I had to discipline him, and after that process, we were still sitting on his bed. He had started giggling and goofing around.
He licked his finger and stuck it on my face.
And he said, “I gave you mouthwash, Mom.”
Not quite the same as Scope.

Wow… your girls have changed so much. Caleb looks pretty much the same, but Ava and Grace have changed a lot lately. I think Grace looks like you. As always… awesome pics of an awesome family. Keep raising those kids in the way they should go! You and Luke ROCK!!

Yes, you do rock!
Yes, the dress-up clothes were from us.
Yes, they are awesome pictures - saved them all.
We have a two hours delay for PCS. I-94 is closed from here to Michigan City. Portage, Valpo and Chesterton have a two-hour delay as well. Stone Avenue is closed because of a water main break. How to get out of here - we will have to see! My Bible study is canceled and postponed until next Tuesday. I will spend the morning calling people for PCS and FEBC. Oh joy!
Finally, yes easy cheese has NEVER been near a cow, it is just junk. But, fun junk none-the-less.
Have a super day! Enjoy the snow. Now Elyse, who wanted snow and got her wish, can start shoveling (I don’t think she remembered that part). See you all next week!

I just love reading updates about your family! The kiddos are just so wonderful! Thanks for all the great pics. I will look at every time I get bored at work!

Mom says: The cowboy dress up stuff is actually from when TIM was a little boy. He wore it all the time (that is Tim, the father, not Tim, the Luke).
Elyse says: “Grace, do you like the play-doh thingy, I picked it out. Have you played the Memory Game yet? Maybe we can play it with you at Aunt Emily’s house during Thanksgiving weekend. Doesn’t it hurt when Caleb hits Ava with the toothpaste tube? Cool paints, and RED mashed potatoes? I love the children’s museum, too. Loveyoubye!”
Zachary says: “I like the pictures of the kids. I never really liked the “easy cheese,” I prefer REAL cheese - in HUGE chunks. I like the part of Caleb hitting Ava with the toothpaste tube (something I would have done with Elyse). I like the Caleb-ism part too. I always liked the children’s museums, Elyse and I played for hours there. OKLoveyoubye!

Grace and Caleb, you 2 look pretty sweet in those costumes. Grace, I couldn’t quite identify your costume…are you a Chinese knight? Hmm.
Good photos, Lacey! I applaud you, that must have taken half of forever to upload. Way to go!

I laughed so hard at the picture of Caleb whacking Ava with the toothpaste. That is something Noah would do to Ellie while she just sat there and endured it. It was so fun to see a picture update! I hope you’re feeling well. =)
