Andrea and Erin have already posted about this, and I will do the same. One of our favorite sites (which I’ve referenced numerous times before), MoneySavingMom, originally alerted us to this deal. You can read her post here, or read about how one mom earned enough gift cards to do all of Christmas shopping FREE here.
It’s called Swagbucks, and all you have to do (after registering) is use it to search the web. I am a diehard Google fan, so I was relieved to learn that it uses Google and Ask.com as its sources for search results. As you search, you earn points, which can then be translated into gift cards. (45 swagbucks = $5 Amazon gift card.)
Referrals also earn gift cards, which is where you come in! If you sign up using THIS LINK, I can earn swagbucks while you do, too!
I installed the Swagbucks toolbar, and have already earned a few points…I don’t know about you, but I often “Google” things, so this should be simple. We’ll see! There are many gift cards to choose from – Amazon, Subway, Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, Target, etc – so I’m excited to try!
On a different note, I officially quit CVS-ing last night. There are no CVS stores near our usual haunts, and I was finding myself HAVING to go to CVS on the day my ECBs were to expire. Yesterday was expiration day for $10 of my ECBs, so I went, bought batteries and diapers, and didn’t walk out with any ECBs…In other words, I’m free! I can start up again later if I feel the need, but for now Walgreens has been having good enough deals to satisfy me!

I don’t know what you mean about ECB’s and CVS…and you say military ppl use a lot of acronyms! pishtosh.
Love you, and I don’t know what the swagbucks thing is but you can explain it to me on Thanksgiving. Later!
I didn’t know what ECB’s were either, so (consistent with the content of this post) I Googled it. Here are the options:
ECB is the stock symbol for Citibank Funding
ECB = European Central Bank
ECB = Emacs Code Browser
ECB = Educational Communications Board (Wisconsin)
ECB = East Carolina Bank
ECB = England Cricket Board
ECB = Environmental Control Board (New york City)
ECB = Emergency Capacity Building
CVS apparently means Concurrent Versions System
So exactly what is Lacey through with and why?
CVS = Consumer Value Store
ECB = Extra Care Buck (i.e. in-store credit)
Good guesses, though! : – )
lacey you sooo picked the wrong week! black friday has GREAT deals to stock up on ecbs and then turn them over. you so should have quit after thanksgiving!!!
What the heck! I need to become a mom. You all know how to get the good deals. Jeeps! I am satisfied if I come from work and find some meat and veggies to cook and don’t have to go to the store the next day to replenish the 5 things Nate and I eat every week and here you are earning money to go shopping… I think I could do the swagbuck thing though… I will have to look into it and earn you some points. I am off to sleep… 2 day work week! YES!!
