Luke was born in South Carolina while his dad attended Bob Jones University, and the family moved back to the Detroit area when Luke and Emily were young. Luke attended Southfield Christian School until third grade, when the family moved again, this time to Northwest Indiana.
Luke’s best friend at Southfield Christian School was Dave Webber, but the two lost touch after Luke moved. Until this year, when Dave randomly found Luke on Twitter and asked if he was the same Luke Rumley that went to SCS back in the day. I say “randomly,” but honestly believe it was a God-thing.
Luke and Dave met for lunch earlier this year, but last night we had the privilege of meeting the whole family. Dave, his beautiful wife Laura, and their absolutely adorable and well-behaved son Bo came over for dinner. It was wonderful. And absolutely amazing how much these two guys, separated in the third grade, have in common.
They’re both web developers for a living.
They both play the bass guitar.
They both married public school girls who love couponing.
They both still love the Lord and serve him in ministry…

I love these pictures! It IS a small world! So glad you got reacquainted. Bo is a cutie! Ava, of course, is gorgeous. Where’s the wives? Keeping the kitchen going, I guess! Fun times! Good memories!
