Good deal

Today I broke my vow of silence with CVS in the name of cheap diapers. I also made a stop at Rite Aid. And after coupons, sales, and gift cards (earned by filling prescriptions – one positive thing about having to buy diabetes stuff every month!), I was able to get all of this stuff for only $4.66 out of pocket (and I’ll get $3 back in a rebate check)!…Four Jumbo packages of Huggies diapers, one large refill pack of Huggies wipes, two One Touch Ultra Mini blood glucose meters, four boxes of CVS tissues, a bag of CVS cotton balls, Johnson and Johnson baby wash, three boxes of candy canes, and two gift card holders for next year!

Thank you, Lord, for always providing for our needs!

I’m excited that two of the packages of diapers were size 1 – to set aside for baby Jaden! I want to be prepared for his birth, and stocking up when I can get things cheap or free is the best way to do it!

  1. As for the CVS post…yay almost free stuff! And I’m sure those tiny diapers are cute and good reminders of what is to come!

As for the pregnancy picture post…are we looking at the same picture? You look tiny, Lacey! Like a regular skinny teenager, just with an extended tummy! Thin AND young…so yeah, I’m bitter and I don’t even know how I’ll look pregnant yet!

How did the doctor react about weight gain this time? Any thoughts as to what made the weight gain go up faster this time than in previous pregnancies? And you’re definitely not supposed to LOSE weight when you become pregnant, so there’s not a really good way to stop weight gain, is there? Doctors don’t know anything, Lace. You look healthy to me!

Erin, THANK YOU for making me feel good about myself amidst the fat-feelings. Honestly, I think the angle of the camera is great because my tall hubby took it, and I should probably post a picture of my big rear…but instead I will just accept your compliment! THANK YOU!

And speaking of thin…Hello, look at you! You are gorgeous, and I’m sure you’ll remain gorgeous whenever you get yourself a baby belly. (When might that be, sister?) ;-)

The weight gain…The doctor was actually very considerate today about the weight gain! Apparently, I started out ten pounds lighter this time (compared to last pregnancy), and am currently only 3 pounds lighter than 25 weeks along last time. SO, I’ve gained 7 more pounds than last time, but OH WELL. I need to cut back on snacks during the afternoon/evening…And you’re right. I don’t know if there’s any healthy way to stop the weight gain. I’m just not one of those girls that only gains 5 pounds during pregnancy!

Great deals, Lacey! I don’t have a CVS, but I’ve been trying to wheel and deal at Walgreens. Last week was my best so far, and it wasn’t anything super-duper. I got 3 large (all over 8 oz.) tubes of toothpaste for 1.39. I could have gotten one more for $.25, but I didn’t realize it until yesterday…sloooow reaction time!

  4. Tobin says he is sterile. But I don’t think that’s true. Haha, it will be a little while longer before a baby belly, Lacey! But thanks for the compliments; I’m blushing all the way in Florida!

    :)

Way to go Lacey! I definitely need to find a good diaper deal. I finally had to buy a package of diapers last week- I hadn’t bought any since last May when Walgreens had the crazy diaper deal. So, I have been doing pretty good at Kroger- you guys needs to get rid of family fare and get a kroger. They double coupons and have ecoupons and have pretty good sales. I was so excited about all the cheese yesterday- its funny how those things can make your day :) The Buskard family has had a nasty cold floating around. Two weeks ago we didn’t go to church because grace was sick and then this week Lena was sick and now Erik and I are both getting it. Hopefully this will be it for the year! :) OH, and I saw the pic of you guys at your mystery dinner- hilarious- but Luke looked a little creepy :) - Erik and I both cracked up! Glad you guys are doing good and your belly picture is great! I am already dreading going in for my appointment next week and finding out how much I have gained! OH well!

OK. I just decided I need to come visit you before I have kids so that I can learn all your cool spending habits! The Lord really provides, and he blesses us when we use the resources he provides wisely!!! It’s cheap to fly from Casper to Chicago right now… now if I could get from Chicago to your house cheap…. hum… something to think about. You look great in the pic… I don’t think my legs are that skinny right now and I am not pregnant, so there!
