Organize me!

Baby Jaden is now due in less than three months, and my list of things to do before he arrives is growing! I realize he’ll come whether I’m “ready” or not, but I am seriously starting to stress about getting it all done. Most days I feel like a champion just for keeping up with the three kiddos I already have to chase, as well as getting a modicum of housework done. So, how will I ever get my list accomplished?

I need some serious Clean Sweep help. Or something.

Here’s a short run-down of “The Nesting List:”
1. Get a bed/mattress/bedding for Ava. Set it up in the big kids’ room, and get her comfortable sleeping there before J comes.
2. Organize the basement. (This one deserves a post all its own!)
3. Organize pretty much every other area of the house, none of which are as horrific as the basement.
4. Prepare and freeze food for after J’s arrival – breakfast foods (waffles, banana bread), as well as dinners (taco meat, sloppy joe meat, lasagna, etc, etc).
5. Stock up on diapers and wipes at bargain prices. (I don’t know why this part is stressing me out, but I just dread having to buy diapers for THREE children. I really feel like I need to get a head start in order to not destroy our budget come May.)

SO…

Does anyone have inspiration, motivation, or just plain energy to give? The countdown is on!

Actually, Lacey, as sad as this sounds, that sounds like so much fun to me! I love organizing people’s houses. I wish I wasn’t due to have a baby in a few days. I would LOVE to take a weekend to help you. Maybe Dominik and I will take a trip down sometime in the next month to do our part. Check your e-mail – I sent you a Baby Update. :)

I hate to burst your bubble, but after 30 years of marriage, you never get completely organized. I know for a fact because we are de-cluttering 30 years of accumulation. Every time we moved, we tried to downsize our junk. I think it actually multiplies. Sorry we aren’t closer, I could at least take the children while you work. If I was to help you work, I wouldn’t know what to keep and what to throw out. Actually, I am having that same problem here!

Hey there busy lady. I don’t have any help in the orgainization department BUT since you love to save money on diapers I thought I would let you know that the Wal-Mart parents choice brand diapers are really cheap especially by the case and I use them for Cassidy during the day and save the Huggies for night time and outings. The size 4 are like $13 for 90 diapers and they are not all hard and junky like some cheaper brands are.

  4. Ummm…I don’t know if I’m much help in that arena. Er, I use Craigslist for everything, maybe you could find kiddie beds there??? Yeah, that’s all I’ve got.

Will anyone be bringing you meals after Jaden is born? That might help with the meal thing…

Wish I was able to make it up there to help you sort. That much I know I would be useful for. It sounds like you’ve got a good plan in place, though, which is half the battle! You’re going to do great with three kids in diapers, I just know it! And if that gets too hard, I guess Caleb will just have to potty train himself, lol. :)

    A. Be thankful you are a stay at home mommy… although I don’t know many moms of 4 that work out of the home these days.
    B. Do one thing at a time.
    C. I would try to stock up also… thanks to my husband’s cost consciousness (is that a word?) that is beginning to rub off. I actually want to start saving for stuff like that and I am not even pregnant.

OK… enough with the a b c thing… Maybe you could start on the basement and make room for the things you want to stock up on, then stock up on things as they are on sale… then you’ll have a spot to put them.

Lastly… find a cheap way for your friend Michelle to come visit you March 9-13 and she’ll help you organize!!! :) I don’t know if this is realistic as our budget is restricted for future car and house plans, but how fun would that be!!!!!!!????

OK… that’s all for now. Talk to you later!
