Meijer has some really great deals this week, especially if your store doubles coupons. The stores in the greater GR area do NOT double, but thankfully there’s a store about 40 minutes away that does!

So, my friend Kay and I went there today, while Miss Molly (her daughter) watched the kiddos. (THANKS, Molly!)

As the picture shows, I got 20 boxes of granola bars, 16 boxes of Gushers, and 4 boxes of Fruit Roll-ups. Sounds like we’re going to have a junk food fest around here soon, huh? Nah, we’ll spread that out over at least a few months. (I’m hoping it’ll last six months, but my hubby likes treats, too, so I’m not counting on it!)

So, visit Jolyn at Bargains to Bounty for all the details!

  1. Dude. The gushers would be gone in 2 weeks if they were at my house. Fruit roll ups too. Mm.

Hey, Erin – you’re coming here! I’ll save you a box. I think I can spare one, if I can sneak it past Luke! :-)

    Hi Lacey!

How did you find the Meijer that doubled? Do you have a list of all the ones that do?

Thanks for posting your savings! I haven’t been feeling good the past couple months because of morning sickness, so I feel terrible just going to Walmart and buying what we need. Now that I’m past the nausea, hopefully I can get into the swing of things again!

I snagged the same catalina deals! You know what really makes this picture so cool… is how happy those kids are to have all those TREATS in front of them. They’ve got the coolest mom!

Hey Lacey! Okay, so clarify for me “coupon doubling .” (beyond the meaning of using a store plus manufacturer coupon) Is it using two manufacturer coupons for one item to double the savings, or one manufacturer coupon that works for two items? Some of the manufacturer coupons for those items said “do not double.” Does that mean that Meijers ignores the manufacturer’s rules, or what? (Sorry, no such things as coupons or food on sale in South Africa, where I learned all my homemaker skills, unfortunately I find myself still educating myself on American life at times) :) . And which Meijer doubles? I got in on a couple boxes of the granola bars for 50 cents, but my bisquick and yogurt buys weren’t quite as good as they could have been at the doubling Meijer. :)

  9. Dana says:

…sorry… I looked up your link to see where Grand Ledge is… one of the benefits of still living out in Lowell, I guess, you’re that much closer. :) But I still want to be educated on doubling.

  10. Lacey says:

Dana – doubling is actually where they double the *value* of the coupon. So, a $.50 coupon takes $1 off. It’s great! Occasionally the GR Kmarts (and others nationwide) will double up to $2, meaning a $2 coupon will double to $4 off!

I love it that you learned your homemaking skills in South Africa! How old were you when you went over there?

  11. Dana says:

Thanks for the doubling info. :) Methinks we must pray for GR Meijers to start doubling… do stores that double do so even on the coupons that say “no doubling?” I was 25 when I went over to SA, so I guess it’s not fair to say I learned all my homemaking skills over there, but that’s where I was when I became a mom, which totally changes how you shop, etc. Within 6 months of being there I was a mom to four kids (3 being infants developmentally), with a 5th added a few months later… so I probably wouldn’t have had time to coupon anyways, maybe it’s a good thing that they don’t have them there. :)

Thanks for all your tips, has Jesse scheduled you to lead a “couponing” Gleaner’s Guild yet?
