As our Greece trip is quickly approaching, we want to PRAISE GOD for His many blessings to us! As of last week, we have finished raising support! A HUGE “thank you” goes out to our oh-so-very-generous friends who gave us a HUGE check to finish off the fundraising. God is so good in how He provides through His faithful people! (As a side note, if you still feel the call to support the team financially, we do have team members who have a ways to go on their fundraising and would definitely appreciate your generosity.)
The next step is prayer. We need people to commit to praying for us (and our team and the missionaries we’re serving and the families we’ve left behind) as we’re away. If you would be willing to participate in this way, would you contact us, and I will send you a detailed itinerary along with more detailed prayer requests? We covet your prayers!
I’d like to also introduce you to our team (in alphabetical order by last name, and with their “official trip bios”).
Scott and Colleen Christie…In addition to being part of the worship team, Scott and Colleen Christie have been involved in various adult and children’s ministries at Forest Hills Baptist Church for the past 11 years. Currently, they are co-leaders for the college and career group, and they are also both heavily involved in the summer children’s ministry called Base Camp. They have six kids ages 12-22, and for the past 4 years God has used their family as a second home for several local teens. They are excited about the opportunity to serve the Lord through worship.
Brittany Molda…Brittany, 19, just graduated from cosmetology school in May. She is currently a member of the worship team at Forest Hills Baptist Church, and for several years she was also part of the worship team in youth group. Brittany also serves in both the Awana and the nursery ministries. She is very excited to use the talents God has given her to help lead others in worshipping Him.
Craig and Kathy Perry…Craig is the Pastor of Youth and Worship at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he has served in various capacities for the last 10 years. Craig is married to Kathy, who after working for 6 years as a registered nurse, now enjoys staying home with their 4 kids: Karisa -7, Hannah -5 , Megan – 2 ½, and Zachary – 10 months. Kathy works alongside Craig in the student ministries at church and also plays piano and violin as part of the worship team. Craig and Kathy have a heart for missions and have participated in several overseas mission trips over the years.
Luke and Lacey Rumley (That’s us!)…During the day, Luke works at Steelcase, Inc. as the Web Project Manager for the Steelcase Store. At night, he is a web developer for his own business, Rumley Design. Luke is also the chairman of the deacons at Forest Hills Baptist Church and plays an active role on the worship team. Lacey is a homeschooling mom. At church, she is involved in the music ministry and nursery ministry, and is the co-director and curriculum writer for the summer Base Camp children’s ministry. Luke and Lacey have four children, ages 5 and under!
Dana Scott…After serving with EBM for seven years as part of the ministry of Bethesda Outreach in South Africa, Dana was led back to the States in 2007 and has since enjoyed growing and serving as part of the FHB church body. Currently alternating between pediatric nursing and providing foster care to medically fragile children, she especially enjoys her full-time job of mothering the two adopted daughters with which God has blessed her. Lerato is a beautiful 11 year old from South Africa, and Braeleigh is a hoppin’ busy 3 year old.
To our readers – Thank you for all your support, whether financially or in prayer! We truly appreciate you!
