These three weeks have gone by so quickly, and Jaden is changing and growing so much. I’m enjoying him immensely. If he doesn’t have a gas bubble in his tummy or a dirty diaper, he’s a really sweet, content baby.
We had a weight check on Wednesday, and he’s up to 10lb 10oz, so the doctor was satisfied with that. I wasn’t worried about his weight, but it’s nice to have the doctors un-worried, too!
We also had an ultrasound done on Jaden’s hips on Thursday morning, and I have no idea when they’ll get the results to us. Next week sometime? I’ll let you all know when I find out.
In other news, our van died on Wednesday evening after prayer meeting. It’s still sitting at the church, and our wonderful church family has been taking excellent care of us! The Burrs let us crash their birthday party (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ABBY!) and then let us take their van home for the evening on Wednesday. Then the Murrays found out about our situation and drove all the way out to our house on Thursday morning to let us borrow their van that they’re currently not using / trying to sell. Then they returned the Burrs’ van to them. What service!
Mr. Molda has also been working on our D-E-A-D van, figuring out the problem for us so we can get it fixed. It’s nice to have handy men around!
We are continually thankful for the amazing church family that God has blessed us with. They truly are family to us.
Of course, I’m biased. I am his mother, after all. But I do think that this baby is the sweetest one I know (not counting my other three that aren’t babies anymore).
We had his 2-week check-up on Friday, and he hasn’t quite regained his birth weight. (He was 10lb 1oz, and his birth weight was 10lb 6oz.) They’re also concerned that he might have a hip click, which would require him to wear a harness for a while. He has an ultrasound scheduled for Thursday morning at 8:30. We would appreciate prayers that all is well with his little hips!
Other than that, he’s a happy, healthy boy!
More later, with some fun news on the frugal front!
Just in case you’re wondering, I’m still pregnant.
11 days past my due date.
Feeling some contractions, but no “real labor.”
Tired of the waiting game.
No Jaden sightings to report. Lacey is getting an AFI test done as we speak, to make sure he is going to continue to be healthy. The non-stress test showed that Jaden is doing fine, and the doctor would really like Lacey to go naturally instead of being induced (we agree, but it is frustrating to wait). Keep praying!
My friend Kyle Bushre is waiting on a bunch of legal hoops to be jumped through to approve the adoption of an ethiopian boy. There is a possibility that it will not be approved at all, so when he sent out a note asking for prayer to rely on these verses, I feel pretty foolish being so impatient waiting for our 4th child to arrive:
Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.
For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.
Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.
I didn’t even bother comparing with last week’s photo. My belly is huge. I’m pretty much ready for baby to come now, and to get this waiting game overwith! Jaden is currently eight days late, and even if I went into labor right now, at this late in the day, he’d be tied with his brother Caleb for latest at nine days late.
We had a good, relaxing Memorial Day – short parade in Lowell, play time at the Brewsters’ house, yummy lunch at home, and naps…I’m thankful!
